⭕ 5.15 Aintree, Saturday (Grand National)
FORTY will run but only 14 can supply the winner of Saturday’s Grand National, based on past-winners’ big-race profiles since 1990. The top five all appear good value on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
A points system for past ability is rudimentary but adding together awards for performance in the key categories is an instant guide to the special few.
Winning most points were those with experience of the National fences in the race itself or in the Topham Trophy and Becher Chase. They revealed a strong advantage in Daqman’s survey of winners in the past 30 years.
Other major pointers were for those who had won or run well in the Irish Grand National, Welsh Grand National or NH Chase at Cheltenham.
The Ladbrokes Trophy (ex-Hennessy), Midlands and Scottish Grand Nationals were the next most influential, followed by the Eider Chase, Warwick Classic, Kim Muir and Gold Cup.
Even those familiar with their profiles will find the list makes interesting reading alongside BETDAQ Sportsbook prices. The last declaration stage is 10 a.m. on Thursday.

⭕ 1.40 Windsor After three moderate efforts on the all-weather Enlightenment made a winning handicap debut at Wolverhampton last month and looked value for more than the official three quarters of a length she was beaten by.
She met all kinds of trouble in the run but still managed to escape and justify favouritism. She’s up three pounds for that win which doesn’t look overly harsh and she should improve again to land this.
Fair And Square is a 14 race maiden who deserves a first win sooner or later but she races rather flamboyantly from the front and has often proved vulnerable in the closing stages. She was second here on racecourse debut.
⭕ 3.50 Redcar Season opening meetings at both Redcar and Windsor today – it feels like a racing Monday again!
There’s a decent novice event here at Redcar where Franz is taken to defy his penalty for winning on debut at Haydock 171 days ago.
None of the front three have run again since so it’s hard to evaluate the form but he cost 100,000 guineas as a yearling and has started his career in promising fashion winning on the same ground expected today.
His trainer Kevin Ryan has his string in good form with three winners from his last 13 runners.
Nicholas George shaped well in second on his debut at Kempton and now needs to translate that form to the turf but looks a danger alongside Newbury winner Zain Nights who should again relish the testing surface.
⭕ 5.15 Kelso Doyen Du Bar was hugely impressive on racecourse debut at Carlisle which was just over a year ago.
He should prove good enough to defy the resulting penalty and follow up in this company. He’s well clear on the limited form we have to go on and the Nicky Richards trained debutant Maughold Head is likely to need a much tougher test of stamina in time.
DAQMAN’S BETS (staked to win 10 points)
BET 3.3pts win ENLIGHTENMENT (1.40 Windsor)
BET 7.0pts win FRANZ (3.50 Redcar)
BET 7.1pts win (nap) DOYEN DU BAR (5.15 Kelso)
What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
