WEEK AHEAD: City And Liverpool Round Two In FA Cup Semi-Final

WEEK AHEAD: There’s another cracking seven days of sport to look forward to this week as the IPL and Champions League ramp up before we get a second helping of Man City v Liverpool.


There’s cricket to begin the week in the Indian Premier League on Monday when Sunrisers Hyderabad face the Gujarat Titans at 15:00 on Sky Sports.

Last season’s IPL Champions Chennai Super Kings haven’t made a good start to their title defence with three defeats, but they will be hoping for better against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (15:00, Sky Sports) on Tuesday. At 20:00 (BT Sport), Chelsea face a tough task if they are to overturn a 3-1 first leg deficit to Real Madrid in their Champions League quarter final second leg, but the Blues can take heart from the fact they have been masters of great European comebacks in recent years. Villareal sprung a surprise against Bayern Munich in their quarter final and are 90 minutes away from only their second ever Champions League semi final. Their game is also live at 20:00 on BT Sport.

Mumbai Indians take on Kings XI Punjab at 15:00 (Sky Sports) on Wednesday. The evening brings a big night of football. Man City hold a slender advantage over Atletico Madrid going into their quarter final second leg, while Liverpool will be confident of seeing out their tie with Benfica at Anfield, after a 3-1 first leg victory. Both games are live on BT Sport at 20:00.

Golf fans are bound to be experiencing post-Masters blues, but the beginning of the RBC Heritage on Thursday from Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina should help. The first round gets underway from 12:00 on Sky Sports. In the IPL there’s Rajasthan Royals against the Gujarat Titans (15:00, Sky Sports). Leicester and PSV kick off at 17:45 (BT Sport) in their Europa Conference League second leg, with things finely balanced and goalless. Before the other European action gets underway, catch Night Ten from the Darts Premier League (19:00, Sky Sports). West Ham and Rangers have work to do in their respective Europa League ties against Lyon and Braga (both 20:00, BT Sport).

Sunrisers Hyderabad are up against current IPL leaders Kolkata Knight Riders at 15:00 (Sky Sports) on Friday. The second round of the RBC Heritage begins, with coverage at the later time of 19:00 (Sky Sports). There’s also an all-English clash in the European Champions Cup as Bristol face Sale (20:00, BT Sport).

Saturday begins with more IPL as it’s Mumbai Indians v Lucknow Super Giants at 11:00 on Sky Sports. Tottenham continue their chase for the top four against Brighton at 12:30 on BT Sport. Tune in to Sky Sports from 13:30 for round three from the RBC Heritage. Then there’s more cricket with Delhi Capitals v Royal Challengers Bangalore (15:00, Sky Sports). Man United are in action against Norwich, while Arsenal travel to Southampton in 15:00 kick-offs in the Premier League. Then for the second time in a fortnight, Man City take on Liverpool, with this time a place in the FA Cup final at stake. The action begins at 15:30 and is live on BBC One.

On Sunday, Kings Punjab play the Sunrisers Hyderabad (11:00, Sky Sports), before the Gujarat Titans take on Chennai Super Kings (15:00, Sky Sports). Sky Sports coverage from the final round of the RBC Heritage begins at 13:30. There’s another repeat match from a few weeks ago, with a second huge Old Firm clash, where Rangers will be looking to avenge their league loss to Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi final (14:00). Leicester travel to St James’ Park to play Newcastle in a 14:15 (Sky Sports) Premier League kick-off. The second FA Cup semi final features Chelsea and Crystal Palace and rounds off the week.
