⭕ 4.45 Brighton Was going to give Brighton the swerve today for the small fields – notably the maiden at 3.35 which has cut up to a VERY one sided match. At the time of writing 1 buys you 0.02 on Betdaq Betting Exchange if you are interested!
The finale does at least look a little more competitive and presents the only bet on the card for me.
Pontius is a lightly raced runner from the in-form Charlie Hills yard who could easily still be well handicapped.
The handicapper hasn’t had much to go on – he was well beaten in his first two races but has shown a glimmer of hope in his first two starts in handicap company and the faster ground might well be too his liking.
Given he had been off the track for 562 days his comeback effort at Yarmouth was respectable enough and he can see off the challenge of Spanish Mane who was a winner over a mile here two weeks ago and is now up 3lb.
⭕ 7.30 Chepstow Ralph Beckett does well on his raiding missions here (16-52 over five years) and can land this with Edinburgh Rock.
His three-year-old is in handicap company for the first time off a lowly starting mark of 62 and is also dropped in class too.
We have go on potential, rather than what he has achieved so far but in a race with some thoroughly exposed rivals that looks the percentage call.
⭕ 7.40 Roscommon Lenebane Stakes (Listed) An interesting Listed contest over 1m 4f where the unbeaten pair Jason The Militant and Beamish go head to head.
The market was favouring Jason The Militant in morning trading but Henry De Bromhead’s runner needs to overcome an absence after his heavy ground win last October.
He gets his ground again tonight but the stable current form (0-11) is a concern.
Preference is for the recent form of Beamish – he hasn’t achieved as much on the form book but certainly has scope for further improvement and the Twomey stable are flying (4 winners from last 10).
He relished the soft ground when winning at Killarney last time out.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
