THE EDGE Sat: West Indies v England 4th T20

WEST INDIES v ENGLAND 4th T20: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews the 4th T20 between West Indies v England with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MATCH OVERVIEW:

We’re back in Bridgetown on Saturday as England need a win to level the series at 2-2 and set up a series decider. This is massive game and all cricket bets are 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. West Indies were absolutely superb with the bat in the 3rd T20, smacking England around the park for 224/5. Rovman Powell was the star with 107 runs off 53 balls and while the West Indies batting clearly fired, it highlights again that England still have major issues with their bowling.

It was nice to land our bet on the West Indies because of the England bowling worry, and while the 3rd T20 was a day that West Indies fired – we all know that they aren’t the most reliable batting team. That being said, they do look in good touch in this series. When you couple that with the fact that the England bowling is a little weak in these conditions and that batting conditions have been good in general then we should see another good performance from the West Indies here. The question is; can the England batters fire them to a better score? Despite losing in the 3rd T20, they still managed to score over 200 runs and that was with Jason Roy out for 19 and Moeen Ali out for a duck.

As I said earlier in the series, it’s a shame that all the T20’s at are the same ground because moving grounds would add a little spice. However in Covid19 times it’s understandable, and we should have another very competitive game at Bridgetown. Hopefully plenty more big hitting from both sides!

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

While the bowling sides have been a little weak in general, the batters have definitely been on top since England collapsed in the 1st T20. I felt we could put that collapse down to the fact that England got the conditions wrong and they have improved a lot since. Although conditions can change very quickly in the West Indies, I would expect another pretty high scoring game here. The best advice is to spend a little time pre-game on Twitter trying to see if we are playing on a user pitch or a fresh one as that will have a big impact on scoring.

RECOMMENDED BET:

After West Indies very impressive batting display in the 3rd T20 the odds have moved a little. England were trading 1.66 for the 3rd T20 and they are trading 1.78 for this 4th T20. Although West Indies really fired in the 3rd T20, I feel the odds have moved too far. England still scored over 200 and their batting is just as good, if not better, than the West Indies. It was a high scoring game and the England bowlers just gave away too many runs. This is an area they always struggled with, but I still believe they are a better side than West Indies. The 1.66 was too short but the 1.78 is now too big and I’m happy to back England on the overreaction in the market.

The Edge Says:
Two points win England to beat West Indies at 1.78 with BETDAQ Exchange.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

Apart from the England collapse, it has looked a good idea to bat first here. It clears the way for a big score and a lot of pressure. I noted in my last preview it would really help the West Indies to bat first and they can go big under no pressure – I wouldn’t be surprised to see the same happen here to be honest however there’s no reason why England can’t do the same if they bat first. Given the batters have looked on top for the last two T20’s and the bowling line-ups are a little weak, the best trade here is getting on the side batting first and then trading out at the innings break. From there, it’s just about picking momentum spots in the second innings when the batters are on top – I’d expect the side batting first to win again however.
